Welcome to The Montair Foundation

Mission and Vision

Welcome to The Montair Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to maintain and enhance educational excellence at Montair Elementary School. Through the collaboration of parents, educators, the school’s Site Council and the community, the Foundation supports programs and services that are considered important to the development of the whole child, but are not provided for by the state. Music, art, drama, science, math and reading intervention, and technology are among the expanded resources we support.

It is our vision that at Montair each child reaches his or her full potential intellectually, socially and emotionally through a well-balanced education.

2019 Foundation Auction
Programs We Fund

For the 2018-2019 school year, we hope to commit $300,000 to either fully funding or partially funding the amazing programs below.  

  • Classroom Support – paraprofessionals in classrooms as well as some instructor materials 
  • Reading Program – provides assistance to children who need additional support in reading skills 
  • Math Program- intervention for students needing additional support in foundational math skills
  • Technology – instruction, equipment and support 
  • Library – expands Mrs. Suffoleta’s hours to full time, including lunch access   
  • Vocal and Instrumental Music – with Mrs. Knight for K, 1st and 3rd Grades  
  • Drama – 2nd and 5th Grades 
  • Office Resources – supporting the school office and lunchtime health assistant 
  • Art – Mrs. Bowles, our Art Coordinator, and materials for the parent-run Art Docent program 
  • Social and Character Development – Soul Shoppe-  teach and reinforce teamwork and conflict resolution 
  • Recess enhancements-like sports equipment and Maker Space
  • Science – LifeLab Garden Program and Science Lab support 
  • Teacher professional development and collaboration
  • And more! 


About 45% of our budget is brought in through our Family Donation Drive during Fall Registration, another 44% through our Annual Auction, and another 11% through a combination of our Golf Tournament, Corporate Matching, and other sources.

Computer Reboot - 2018 Auction Fund-A-Need Dollars Hard at Work!


  • Auction Fund a Need32 Macbook Pros were purchased and are up and running in our computer lab.
  • Tech team is organzing, tagging and getting any of the older computers that are still usable into classrooms
  • Every TK-3rd grade student will be using this equipment weekly

Get Involved with The Montair Foundation

We are looking for parents to get involved in The Montair Foundation. Your time and talents are ALWAYS appreciated – no role is too small! Please contact any of our Board Members with questions.


Foundation Meetings

The Montair Foundation Board meets monthly in the conference room from 8:30-10:00am. Everyone is welcome. Our scheduled dates are as follows:

  • December 12
  • January 16
  • February 13
  • March 13
  • April 17
  • May 8

In addition, a member of the Montair Foundation attends every monthly PTA board meeting as well as attending each School Site Council Meeting.
