Principal's Welcome

Dear Montair Students and Parents,

I am eager to begin my third year as Principal of Montair School.  Montair is a special place.  It is a school that values educating the whole child, offering opportunities for them to grow artistically, academically, and athletically. It is a school with tremendous parent support and a dedicated staff.

I began my teaching career in 1982 and in 1990, joined the SRVUSD as a science teacher here at Montair. I have been hooked on our district and community ever since.  After 18 years in the classroom teaching K-8 grade, I began work as an instructional coach in the district where I discovered my passion for supporting teachers to grow their practice. I spent 10 years as a district coach but I found that I missed being part of a community. I then joined the administrative team at Quail Run for two years before joining the Montair Team as Principal.

I grew up in this community. My husband and I met at SRVHS and later both attended UC Berkeley. (Go BEARS!) Our two daughters attended SRVUSD schools K-12 and now live in San Diego. We enjoy traveling, gardening, and hiking with our 3 Jack Russell Terriers. We attend every home game for the CAL football team and are dedicated fans!

Being the Principal of Montair school is an honor that I don't take lightly.  I am committed to working together with the staff, teachers, parents, and children at Montair. I am positive that we will have another great year and that it will be just the beginning of our growing and learning together!
